North Korea announced in March 2009 that it would launch a satellite, setting off efforts worldwide to quickly analyze the implications.
AGI examined this event to illustrate how its ready-to-use software solves unanticipated problems.
The following videos, AGI Viewer files and high-resolution images are for media and public use.

Description
Using the number and location of announced hazard zones, AGI software derived a notional three-stage vehicle, ascent trajectory and low-Earth orbit. This example conjunction analysis illustrates how the orbit might intersect other space objects. This approach infers what capability a launcher might have as a ballistic missile.

| How would Japan/U.S. verify a satellite launch? |
 |
720p HD version (33.0 Mb) as a ZIP file
Description
Using the previously derived notional orbit, sea-based radars are positioned to track the launch and monitor key parameters and events such as instantaneous impact point and stage three separation/ignition. Line-of-sight access opportunities to the U.S. Space Surveillance Network are provided to illustrate when a successful orbit might be verified.
