Free webinar: Modeling and simulating affects of wind farms on radar

By: jwelsh
wind farm, AGI, aircraft, radar, radar clutterAGI software can be applied across an incredible range of industries, and one of the most interesting is wind farms. As we’ve mentioned in other blog posts, the turbine blades can return Doppler-shifted radar signals that mimic aircraft or even a stationary tornado. That can cause clutter and has to be accounted for when wind farm planners (in both the energy industry and DoD) establish the placement of a new system, especially near aircraft or defense radars. This Thursday, June 9, we will host a 30-minute webinar demonstrating how AGI software can provide early phase screening to analyze and help solve for those planning issues. The event will provide an overview of the wind power/radar interaction problem; a demonstration of how the software analyzes the turbines’ impact on the radar of a planned system; and an operational analysis of the whole farm as well as final aircraft approach paths. The webinar will be held twice: at 9:30 a.m. ET and 1:30 p.m. ET. Therefore, no matter what time zone you live in or how busy your day is, you should have an opportunity to take part. So, look at your calendars and sign up today. We hope to see you there!
