Support the Federation of Galaxy Explorers

By: sclaypoole
It's almost time for one of our favorite events of the year, the Galaxy Ball, a benefit for the Federation of Galaxy Explorers (FOGE). FOGE is a nonprofit organization that promotes the exploration of science and technology to students of all ages. Schools and organizations from all over the country have set up Mission Teams to inspire kids to learn more about space science, engineering, Earth science, rocketry and space citizenship. AGI’s Mission Team has members that range from 1st – 6th grades and have participated in experiments such as protecting your egg from a water landing (a space history lesson on the Apollo landings), building commercial spacecraft from Lego’s and even one on reverse engineering (the kids had lots of fun taking apart computers). The goal of our mission team is to share the passion and expertise that AGI employees have for space, science and technology with kids from across our community. The 2013 Galaxy Ball on June 1 in Arlington, VA, is not only a great fundraising event, but also an opportunity to honor leaders and volunteers of space education. This year FOGE will be honoring NASA Administrator Charles F. Bolden, Jr., with the Space Leadership Award. It’s not too late to join us in celebrating individuals and companies who contribute to space exploration while supporting an organization that truly inspires kids to realize the dream of space exploration. Sign up for a night of dinner, dancing, silent auctions and honoring space education here.
