STK gives NLR space systems engineering and operations better visibility

By: sclaypoole
A new case study shares how longtime STK user the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR) has been using the software recently. First, STK is used with EuroSim, a configurable simulator tool, to visualize in 3D Simulator Model Portability-based simulator models for a future Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) system. This system will support attitude-control hardware in-the-loop testing. Satellite position and attitude data are sent to STK to visualize the 3D satellite model orbiting the Earth in real time. STK is also being used to support manned spaceflight operations and planning for the NLR's User Support & Operations Center activities onboard the Columbus module of the International Space Station. For ESA's PromISSe mission involving Dutch astronaut Andre Kupers, STK provided visibility coverage analysis for ground-based objects from the ISS. Read the full case study, and more than 100 others!
