By: sclaypoole
Our Virtual Users' Conference is just two weeks away, and we are thrilled to announce that famed astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson is newly slated to participate. A dynamic and passionate speaker, Tyson has vast experience and opinions about space exploration, especially the importance of continuing to fund it. Tyson is a frequent guest on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report and Real Time with Bill Maher, among many others. He currently serves as the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium, a research associate with the American Museum of Natural History and the host of both StarTalk Radio and the PBS program NOVA scienceNOW. You might also know him as one of People magazine's 2000 "Sexiest Men Alive." Upcoming projects include a sequel to Cosmos, the television show popularized in the 1980s by one of his mentors, Dr. Carl Sagan, as well as a new book entitled, "Space Chronicles," about the past, present and future of space exploration.
