ITAG's Techies Day 2012

By: RocketGirl
Today is the International Technology Action Group (ITAG) of Chester County Techies Day. Techies Day is held every October to give high school students the opportunity to learn about technology careers in the Chester County area. This year AGI hosted students from Collegium Charter School in Exton, PA. The students spent the day learning about AGI, our software and our engineers. They had hands-on experience with the software during an "Intro to STK" training session with AGI training manager, Arianne Allan. After the training, they participated in a panel discussion with several technical AGI'ers, from developers to aerospace engineers, to talk about their backgrounds, their education and to get advice on how they can be successful in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers. The students finished the day with a demonstration of AGI's Satellite AR app (available for Android). We were so excited to once again participate in this event. Techies Day is a great opportunity to expose today's high school students to STEM-related careers and it gives AGI employees the opportunity to share their experiences with some future engineers. We can't wait to do it again next year!
