Extending STK/MMT with STK/Analyzer
What is STK/Analyzer?
STK/Analyzer automates STK trade studies by eliminating the need to manually vary scenario parameters,
write scripts, or book-keep results. Running parametric studies and Monte Carlo simulations is as simple
as choosing which parameters to vary and which to observe. An optimization extension adds capability to
maximize or minimize objective functions that include discrete variables, multiple constraints, and noisy design spaces.
How STK/Analyzer works with STK/MMT
STK/Analyzer is compatible with STK/Missile Modeling Tools’ (STK/MMT) Missile Flight Tool and Intercept
Flight Tool. Used in combination, STK/Analyzer can automatically vary any trajectory or intercept
configuration parameter, execute the flights, and perform STK operations to calculate trade study outputs.
Example applications include:
- Parametrically examine hundreds of missile trajectories reporting detection and track times from radars and other sensors.
- Execute a Monte Carlo simulation to assess how intercept engagement uncertainties such as detection time and battle management delay affect probability of kill.
- Optimize missile launch time to minimize Sun lighting during midcourse.
Benefits
Efficiency: Set up, execute, and interpret advanced trade studies significantly faster than performing them manually or via scripts, enabling increased examination of the trade space and broader, more refined analysis conclusions.
Flexibility: Address a full range of trade studies from single variable parameters studies to advanced multi-variable Monte Carlo simulations from one simple trade study interface.
Convenience: Automatically collect results, generate graphs, and save the entire trade study within the STK scenario, with no need to switch between applications to store intermediate results or post-process the data.
ROI: More analytical power provides more return on investment from the STK analysis suite. STK/Analyzer is applicable to basic STK scenarios and those involving STK/MMT, STK/Coverage, and/or STK/Communications.
