Range Safety
This VDF depicts a range safety operation for a shuttle
launch. Prior to the launch, a Hunter UAV is deployed
to survey the restricted waterway downrange of the
launch pad. Aircraft routes such as this can be modeled
in STK with the Aircraft Mission Modeler, which allows
you to design routes based on customizable flight
profiles with set performance constraints based on
aircraft type. After the launch, dynamic access data is
shown for all nearby tracking systems, as is the position and velocity information for the shuttle itself.
