A Soyuz 2-1a launched on December 2 from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, carrying Pleiades 1B to orbit. Pleiades will collect high-resolution optical imagery for civilian and military users. The satellite will be part of the Pleiades system that will provide up to 50 images per day to the French defense and intelligence services. The NORAD (or SSC) number for Pleiades 1B is 39019 and it will be available in the STK satellite database shortly.
