A Vega rocket launched from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, on Monday night (0206:31 GMT Tuesday) carrying Proba-V, VNREDSat 1 and ESTCube 1 to orbit. Proba-V is an ESA vegetation-monitoring satellite that will study crop yields, wildfires, water shortages and more. VNREDSat 1 is an Earth observation satellite that Vietnam will use to to better respond to natural disasters and observe the effects of climate change. ESTCube 1 is CubeSat (and Estonia's first satellite) built by students at the University of Tartu. Its goal is to prove that the electric solar sail is a valid concept. The NORAD catalog (or SSC) numbers are as follows: Proba-V - 39159; VNREDSat 1 - 39160; ESTCube 1 - 39161. They will be available in the STK satellite database shortly.
