Space Day 2014

By: Stef C
Happy Space Day! Space Day is an educational event held the first Friday in May with the goal of promoting interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) by nurturing young peoples' enthusiasm for space. Space Day was created by Lockheed Martin Corporation in 1997. For the 13th straight year, AGI hosted a class of local third-graders at our Exton, PA, headquarters for a half-day of space education. Our focus was rockets, and in addition to a presentation on heavy launch vehicles by AGI Rocket Girl (aka Amanda Brewer), the students built straw rockets, Alka Seltzer rockets and launched rockets they built in their classroom with the help of our well-trained rocket launch crew. We love being able to share our enthusiasm for space with tomorrow's engineers! Check out some pics from yesterday's event!
