PRESS RELEASE: Digital Engineering collaboration will enhance mission agility, improve efficiency
Automated digital continuity from system model to mission design is now readily available with today’s announcement that two industry leaders – Analytical Graphics, Inc. (AGI), and Valispace embarked on a digital engineering integration to improve engineering agility, quality, and efficiency that captures mission objectives and increases program success.
In today’s aerospace industry requirements are complex and frequently disconnected from the systems design process. Disjointed model threads require model recreations and result in disconnected workflows. To address these challenges, the integration of AGI’s digital mission engineering platform, Systems Tool Kit (STK), and Valispace’s Data Driven Systems Engineering (DDSE) platform provides the critical foundation for an automated engineering process and workflow.
“’Mission’ is at the focal point for any aerospace system, and our collaboration with Valispace provides a unique digital engineering solution that is closely integrated into the digital lifecycle of the project to enable a persistent, transformative mission thread to connect digital models” said Kevin Flood, vice president of engineering at AGI.
“One of the most significant driving factors for reducing development time and cost of complex hardware projects is to have an integrated approach where the product phases and engineering disciplines are parallel and connected, and that’s what Valispace and AGI integration allows engineers to do,” said Marco Witzmann, CEO of Valispace. “Simulations and Documentation should be kept in sync by software and not by highly paid experts.”
The newly-released Valispace plugin for STK allows mission designers to update their scenarios with a single click accessing thousands of parameters that describe the spacecraft design. At completion of the STK simulation, the updated mission scenario results are then fed back from STK into Valispace for further analysis, automatic generation of documentation and smart requirement verification.
