Through a Cooperative Research & Development Agreement (CRADA) between AFRL and AER, AER was able to contribute significantly to the technical foundation of STK’s Space Environment and Effects (STK SEET) module. AER has provided advanced science solutions for government and commercial applications since 1977. Its scientists’ interdisciplinary expertise encompasses studies of the Earth and its atmosphere and oceans, space, and the planets. AER’s Space Weather Division provides data assimilative model development, integration, and validation for a broad range of space weather nowcast/forecast applications for assessment of environmental impacts on DoD and commercial satellites, sensors, and other technology assets in space.
Alion produces Terrain Integrated Rough Earth Model (TIREM), a commercially available software tool that predicts radio frequency (RF) propagation loss over terrain and seawater for ground-based and airborne transmitters and receivers. The STK TIREM extension enhances STK Communications and STK Radar by enabling users to perform analyses along dynamic RF nodes for an overall system simulation. In addition to propagation loss over irregular terrain, STK TIREM can also model near-field considerations, power density, and field strength equation.
Advanced Solutions, Inc. (ASI) is a growing engineering firm in Littleton, CO. ASI offers a team of highly talented and highly motivated professionals with a broad experience base in complex system and software solutions. Their expertise in the Aerospace field includes Spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Control Systems, Ground Data Systems and Simulators, Avionics and Flight Software, and Systems Design and Development. ASI developed SOLIS which is a complete spacecraft simulation environment in STK including full rotational dynamics; attitude determination and control; sensor and actuator models; and power and payload modeling.
Orbit Logic provides turn-key COTS-based spacecraft ground system solutions, products, and supporting engineering services with a strong operations background. STK Scheduler, an STK add-on module developed and maintained by Orbit Logic, provides a scheduling solution for complex space and ground segment resource scheduling and optimization.
Phoenix Integration is a global leader in Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) and System of Systems (SoS) software, providing integrated analysis and processes, visualization, and data management in the conceptual and preliminary stages of product design and systems analysis. Phoenix develops and maintains STK Analyzer, a subset of their ModelCenter® software, which is integrated into the STK workflow for automating and analyzing STK trade studies.
Photon Research Associates, Inc. (PRA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon, has developed the STK Radar Advanced Environment (RAE) extension. This add-on module extends the modeling capabilities of STK Radar to account for range and Doppler ambiguities, mainlobe and sidelobe clutter, geo-spatial clutter maps, multiple waveforms and target detection in clutter.
Remcom has been a leading provider of electromagnetic simulation software for nearly 15 years, creating the first universally usable, FDTD-based solver for the commercial Electromagnetics market. Their products are used by EM professionals in a wide variety of markets and applications, including antenna design, bio/EM effects, microwave circuits, photonics, ray tracing, wireless communication, EMC/EMI, and many more. The Urban Propagation (UPROP) extension to the STK Communications module uses Remcom's Wireless InSite product to do physics-based path loss predictions for communications in urban environments. SAIC is a leading technology integrator providing full life-cycle services and solutions in the technical, engineering, and enterprise information technology markets. SAIC Huntsville has long supported the missile defense community dating back to their development of the then industry-standard missile modeling program, STAMP (Strategic Theater Attack Modeling Process), under the sponsorship of NAIC (now NASIC). Leveraging this technical foundation, SAIC now develops and maintains all missile modeling tools for STK.
MÄK develops software to link, simulate, and visualize the virtual world. MÄK creates tools and toolkits for distributed simulation, and is the maker VR-Link, the leading toolkit for simulation networking via the DIS and HLA protocols. AGI’s Distributed Simulation (DSim) extension for STK uses VR-Link to make an IEEE-compliant DIS and HLA interface for STK.
